Greetings from the South. Monica and I now live in Atlanta. During this summer, we have travelled through 12 states in all. It was a little tiring, but fun overall. I think next summer we are going to do that sort of travelling abroad.
I need to get myself hired at Georgia State University, which Michael Owren and I think will happen by September. I am going to be studying embodiment in primates as well as human listeners. Still working on a few projects from the last couple years to see if I can get a few publications out of them. Monica and I still have a chapter coming out on empirical methods in cognitive linguistics. Zwaan's and Pecher's book "Grounding Cognition" came out this summer. I have a chapter in there with Art and others on emotional language understanding.
There will soon be a few new websites of mine. The first is just a free domain that I got from Comcast when I signed up. It is not easy to remember, but I will put a link from this site to there. I plan on using it for large files and hopefully some streaming.. and incriminating, content. The second will be on the GSU server, and will contain more professional.., incriminating content. So those are a few things to look forward to.
As for now, I am off to explore some new restaurant in Decatur. Hopefully I can find the place tonight, unlike last night, aimlessly driving around downtown.
Cheers,
-Ray
