3Bubbles coming soon

Ah.. the pleasure of recovering my username and password every time I post, simply because so much time lapses between each one.  Seems like a completely manageable problem for a guy who studies time, memory, and language.  Ok, well on to better and more interesting topics.  How about something fun tonight?  Instead of the usual academic drivel I’ve been sticking under the magnet on my small square of the infinitely-large-surfaced refrigerator that is the internet.  Look Mom, I got three hits!

Well, that was different all right.  Coming back to Earth, I plan on putting a new toy on this site made by a company called 3bubbles.  It is supposed to allow people to IM directly on your site.  Instead of the usual in-your-face-Micro$oft comments which take forever to get a response, now nerds can haggle the prices of their custom Warcraft codpieces and get an immediate sense of satisfaction and then later on.. sobbing.  On a more serious note, I hope to add some kind of interactive collaboration, although that may be just as easy to do with Skype or other software I haven’t tried.

Another little bit of news that got my attention last month was what Lego has been up to.  They had contest and the winner would get to buy their new Mindstorms sets at a discounted price as long as they agreed on contributing to their development team.  Surprisingly, I was rejected.  I guess my idea for a Lego moonshine still didn’t win them over.  It still might be something I try out for the AI possibilities (I’m not talking about moonshine), but I guess I could spend less money and get the servos and motor working on my old RC car.  I don’t like the Apple logo and iPod tie-in to their robot either.  I mean what is that supposed to mean…OMG! iROBOT!

Well, I’m going to get back to figuring out where I’m landing next year.  I’ll post again soon, at least as soon as I know about grad school.

Hope all is well, whomever, wherever, and whyever you are reading this.
